Get full value from your e-mail Signature

Have you ever stopped to think about the amount of emails that leave your organisation on a daily basis?  How many of these end up in front of a prospect or a customer?  What does your current email branding say about you or do for you?

As our work becomes more immersed in technology, social networking and social media, your email signature presents a great and easy opportunity to give your brand a boost and engage customers and prospects digitally by driving them to twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Social Media Links

I talk to a lot of people that boohoo social media, and I too am sceptical that some practices I see on twitter and LinkedIn bring any significant return on investment. I don't think however that there can be any doubt at all that Social Media is going to play a extremely valuable role in the future for all of our businesses and a network of friends, followers and business professionals will become an increasingly valuable asset to your organisation, even though you may have not realised exactly how to leverage it yet.  So why not take the opportunity to promote and grow your social network with great looking signature that contains your social media links.

The problem with the standard tools in Microsoft Exchange and outlook is that signatures cannot be centrally administered.  Creating signatures this way needs to be done manually within outlook, this is certainly achievable but it is time consuming to do and manage and there is always the risk that users will tinker, and you will end up with a non-standard signature, or worse still a signature that looks unprofessional.  The standard tools also impose some limitations which make it difficult to get fantastic looking results.

We've been looking for a better solution and have now standardised on a product called Mail Exclaimer.  We have adopted the solution in house and rolled out our new email signatures here at Connexion; we have also now implemented the solution for a number of clients.

The solution

In a nutshell Mail Exclaimer makes it possible to create centrally managed email signature templates (you can have different templates for different departments or users) which look absolutely terrific.  The variables contained within the signature such as name, job title, LinkedIn profile link, twitter link, contact details etc. are all stored in the windows user database system which means that they can be centrally managed.   Just add the user’s information into Active Directory and they automatically get your standard corporate signature populated with all of their details.

The end result is a beautiful signature that's easy to manage and that will fully leverage the value of your email for branding and promoting your digital presence.
